CASR Leadership
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND SECRETARY
Francis Murenzi has been the executive director of CASR since its foundation in 2006. He is also its Legal Representative with the Rwandan government and the treasurer of the Board. He oversees all of the businesses of the Lighthouse and the ministries of CASR. He is the leader of its campus ministry; reaching out to the many independent Christian student groups on the campus and encouraging Christian unity. He is also very active as a speaker/evangelist in the churches in south Rwanda. He hosts the monthly Pastor’s Forum in Butare. He has close and cordial relationships with local governmental, police, and provisional guard leaders. He has earned a BA in law and Christian Religious Education with Global University. He is married with three children. |
COMPASSION DIRECTOR AND PRESIDENT
Pastor David Nahayo is a founding member of CASR and president of the board of directors. He is very active with CASR as the director of the Joy of God Bible Institute’s intensive discipleship program to the university students. He is also the leader of CASR’s Compassion ministries to the poor in the area. He assists widow’s cooperatives in micro-enterprises and training for the poor youth. He is also very active in local children’s ministries. David was ordained an as Anglican pastor in 1981. He has worked on staff as the pastor to the English speaking congregation at the local Anglican Church in Huye and is now retired. He now holds the position as Chaplain at the University of Rwanda Hospital and the District Hospital of Kabutare. He holds a BA degree in Theology and Pastoral Studies from Oak Hill College in London England and a Master’s degree in Theology from Yaounde University in the Cameroon. He is married with two sons and one granddaughter. |
VICE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Jane Kayihunga completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2007 and joined the staff at CASR. During the next 8 years, she served as community outreach coordinator, Executive Assistant, and then Logistics and Finance Manager. She is now working as Finance and Logistics Manager for Kepler University, in Kigali. She is married and the mother of two young children. |
TREASURER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Floride Ndayishimiye completed her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Rwanda. She was employed by CASR from 2010-2013 as their bookkeeper. She returned to CASR in 2016 to join the board as treasurer and again help with the bookkeeping. She is married to a physician who works at the University hospital . They have two children. |
